December

December has been a busy but fun month.

The first weekend in December I went to the annual Advent Brunch at church.  Mom usually hosts the table and we get to enjoy good food, time with friends and listen to a speaker.  Emily also won a gift basket  in the raffle this year which was pretty exciting.
The next weekend we went to the Fielders' house for a "Trailer Christmas Party".  Their parties always have a fun theme!  Below is a picture of Archie and I from the party. I was sporting a fantastic shirt from the Walmart and some fake tattoos while Archie was rocking a mullet wig, trucker hat, camo shirt and some fake tattoos.  We had fun catching up with friends.  I had a little too much fun....

This past weekend on Friday night we drove up to Oklahoma to the Winstar Casino.  Our friend Joshua turned 30 and we were going to a concert with The Band Perry.  We got there a little early so we were able to play some blackjack before the concert.  The concert was only an hour but the band played all of their hits and we had fun.  Afterwards the boys played a little more blackjack before we headed home.  Archie ended up winning $900 and I won $200.  It was a good night at the casino for us.  Below are some pictures from the evening.  I purposely took a picture with Joshua and Caleb since I was going to see their sister the next night, I was pretty luckly to spend my weekend with the Ward siblings!

Saturday morning we headed to the UNT Coliseum for our friend Kevin's graduation.  We cheered him on through graduation and then head to lunch afterwards.  We got to catch up with friends and enjoy each others' company during lunch which was fantastic.  Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures :(
Saturday night I went to a cookie exchange at my friend Lauren's house.  I got to spend a relaxing evening with some great ladies and walked away with some yummy cookies.  I also got to spend some time with one of my best friends - Bethany.  Below is a picture:

This weekend we are doing the Infinity AVS Christmas Dinner tonight and then head to Wichita Falls in the morning to begin the Christmas celebration.  Happy Birthday Jesus and Merry Christmas to all!

Thanksgiving

Where has the time gone?  It is hard to believe is is the end of November with only a month until the end of the year.  I am hoping that you have had a good year and have many things to be thankful for.
Thanksgiving is a time to spend with loved ones and appreciate everything you have in your life.
There are so many things in your life that you should appreciate and I hope that you will take time to focus on all that you have to be thankful for.  Thansgiving is a time to focus on the many things that God has provided to you in your life: family, friends, food, shelter and the other necessities of life.  It is a time to reflect on everything you have in your life.  Always tell your friends and family that you love them.

Thanksgiving is a holiday that definitely has more meaning than it used to.  Last year at this time Archie was out of the hospital but it was still a couple of weeks before we went back to work full time.  We did not know what we still had to face this year.  It is hard to believe that it was a whole year before life was back to normal.  It has been (knock on wood) three months since we have been to the hospital.  It is funny because ever since the last visit to the hospital I started counting the days, weeks and months since the last visit.  These are milestones that I focus on and hope we are done with the hospital visits.

I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving!

Girls Weekend!

This weekend I went on a girls weekend with my three besties for the first BAMM weekend, it was fantastic!  On Friday, I worked a half day and then picked up my friend Bethany to head to Austin.  We made great time and even had time to stop at the outlets for a little shopping.  We met up with Melissa S. and went for some dinner at the Austin Pizza Garden.  Delicious!  Then Melissa M. met us at the hotel and we sat and talked for hours.  The next morning we went to brunch at the South Congress Cafe which was amazing!   We then picked up some cupcakes from Hey Cupcake, hit the road and headed out west to Fredericksburg.  We got the cutest house for the weekend.  Below are pictures:

Studio B Guesthouse

There were swings in the house!

We then headed to Main Street to check out the shopping.  Fredericksburg was hopping because it was Octoberfest weekend.  We shopped for several hours and then headed to dinner at Navajo Grill for a wonderful dinner.  Yummy!  Then we sat around and talked for hours.  The next morning slept in and made some breakfast.  Then we headed out the wineries for some tastings.  We went to Torre Di Pietra and 4.0 to sample several different wines.
The Girls

We then we into town for some lunch at Rathskellar.  Melissa and Melissa headed home while Bethany and I headed to a few more wineries- Messina Hof and Hilmy.  I love the door at Hilmy!

Afterwards we went to Becker to see the lavendar fields, I think there were only four rows of flowers.  I had to take a picture of Becker because it was pretty cute.

Then we headed to the house to hangout before we went to dinner Crossroads Saloon and Steakhouse.  It was delicious!  The next morning we woke up early and hit the road.  I had a fantastic time with my best friends!

Two Additions

We have two new additions to the Stewart Household and I cannot be any happier.  I saw them and I had to get them- I took the display because they didn't have anymore.  They make me smile everytime  I come home and they are pretty low maintenance.

Archie was laughing at me because they were in the front yard on Sunday, September 30th.

It is a Celebration!

I got to meet Archie at his infectious disease appointment to join him for his weekly visit but for his final weekly visit.  He got his PICC line out today!  After 10 weeks of nonstop antibiotics we are breaking up with Archie's little buddy who has been with us 24/7.   Below are some pictures of Archie and his little buddy before they broke up.

The doctor said the MRI that Archie had on Thursday showed a little bleeding and some fluid build up where the catheter was but he said that is expected with the recent surgeries he had. We asked that if the neurosurgeon knew about the results and he said he would call him.  He said typically Archie should have been treated for only 2 weeks of antibiotics but to make sure he kept him on them for four extra weeks to make sure the infection was cleared up.  Archie will go back in 3 weeks for a final appointment.

I was pretty excited to get rid of the bag of medical waste that has been in our house for the past 10 weeks, sad but true!  We are pretty excited in the Stewart household needless to say!

Three Year Anniversary

Today marks our 3 year anniversary as husband and wife.  Three years ago on fabulous day,  I made the following vow:
"I, Allyson, take you, Archie, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad,in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life."

Little did I know how quickly that I have to live my vows out in my daily life.  Typically, throughout your married life you have to provide care for your significant other during a health issue.  In my mind, I was thinking much later down the road.  The thought didn't not cross my mind that I would be faced with making medical decisions for Archie because he was out of it.  I had thoughts cross my mind about what life would be like without him in it.  I do not wish that only anyone and hope that no one is faced with a situation like that.
Last year our anniversary was spent in the hospital.  Archie was grouchy because he had just found out that he would be spending more time in the hospital (he was not aware how serious his condition was and that he could have died).  It was a pretty bad anniversary to be honest.
It is amazing what a difference a year can make.  This morning I made breakfast before I headed off to work.  On the way to work I was listening to daily mass and just had to smile because the reading for today was First Corinthians 12:31-13:13:
"Set your mind on the higher gifts. And now I am going to put before you the best way of all. 1 Though I command languages both human and angelic -- if I speak without love, I am no more than a gong booming or a cymbal clashing. 2 And though I have the power of prophecy, to penetrate all mysteries and knowledge, and though I have all the faith necessary to move mountains -- if I am without love, I am nothing.
3 Though I should give away to the poor all that I possess, and even give up my body to be burned -- if I am without love, it will do me no good whatever.
4 Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited, 5 it is never rude and never seeks its own advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances. 6 Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in the truth. 7 It is always ready to make allowances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes. 8 Love never comes to an end. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if tongues, they will fall silent; and if knowledge, it will be done away with. 9 For we know only imperfectly, and we prophesy imperfectly; 10 but once perfection comes, all imperfect things will be done away with. 11 When I was a child, I used to talk like a child, and see things as a child does, and think like a child; but now that I have become an adult, I have finished with all childish ways. 12 Now we see only reflections in a mirror, mere riddles, but then we shall be seeing face to face. Now I can know only imperfectly; but then I shall know just as fully as I am myself known. 13 As it is, these remain: faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love.

It is amazing that on our third anniversary that I would hear the reading that I chose to be read at our wedding!
This year I can say that I believe that our relationship is stronger than it was. The good old saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is true.  Or another saying that I have said thtoughout the past year is "God wouldn't give you something you cannot handle."  I couldn't imagine my life without Archie being beside me.  He knows me way too well sometimes.  But I would not have it any other way.  God had a plan when we met 7 years ago at a concert.
Breakfast was our anniversary celebration today.  I have plans tonight unfortunately.  But tomorrow we are going to the Eric Church concert which was my gift to Archie.  Then this weekend we will go out to dinner to celebrate.
Happy Anniversary Archie.  I love you so much and I am thankful that you chose me to be your wife three years ago!

Vacation

Last weekend Archie and I went on vacation for the first time in a year.  We went to Steamboat, CO for a long weekend with our friends Jennifer, Mark and Aaron.  We left Thursday night about 8 pm and got to Colorado around 11:30 pm.  We got to the airport extra early to make sure we gave ourselves plenty of time to get through security since we were traveling with antibiotics in a cooler plus the antibiotics Archie had attached to him.  Thankfully, we did not encounter any issues and it just took a couple minutes longer while they tested his hands and the bottles of antibiotics for explosives.

A burrito as big as your face
Friday morning we went to check out breakfast options near the condo and found a fantastic restaurant called Paramont.  We ended up eating breakfast there every morning and I think we tried almost everything on their breakfast menu.  Here are some pictures of two options:

Fiji French Toast

After breakfast we headed into town to check out the shopping in Steamboat so we walked up and down the street checking out shops. Archie got a couple of things, I found him an UnderArmor jacket he really likes.  Below are some pictures of some hats we found.

Aaron the Gladiator
JAWS!

We then went and had some margaritas in town that were delicious but dangerous.  It is never good when they limit the number of margaritas you can have to 3 and we maxed out.  We headed back to the condo, had a few more drinks and the guys went to play pool while Jennifer and I sat around and talked.  That night there was a complimentary wine tasting at the condos that we attended.  Afterward Jennifer and Archie headed to bed early while Mark, Aaron and I went to dinner.
Friday morning we went to Paramont for breakfast and then Archie, Aaron and I rode the Gondola up to the top of the mountain.  We went on a 0.8 mile Nature Vista walk which we enjoyed.  I liked learning about the various animals in the area.  Below are some pictures from the walk:

We went back to the condo to meet up with Jennifer and Mark.  Then we went to lunch at Slopeside and afterwards we headed back up the Gondola to the top of the mountain.  This time we decided to take the 1.6 mile trail.  We obviously did not read the description of the trail because it was 1.6 miles uphill the whole way!  But we should have clued in by the name - Chisholm Train.  What I found frustrating was that we were on a road not a trail plus it never told us when we reached the ned.  It was a difficult trail but I am proud of us!   Below are some pictures:

The uphill climb that woudn't end

Jenn & Mark

Jenn, Mark, Archie, Allyson & Aaron

That night we went to Truffle Pig for dinner and had a great dinner.  We then went to the house and went to bed because we were pretty wiped out from the hike.
Sunday we woke up and went to breakfast.  Afterwards we were asking the concierge what we should do and we headed to town to visit the "Howler" which is an Apline slide.  We rode the chairlift up to the top and rode down the 2,400 foot track on a sled.  It was a blast!!!!

Then we headed to town to walk around and visited the local chili cook-off.  We participated and had a good time sampling the different chilis.  Of course my favorite chili was from Texas!  Then we headed back to the condo.  We then decided to head to the Strawberry Hot Springs.  They are natural hot springs located outside of town.  Archie went with us but just put his feet in due to the antibiotic.  We checked out the different pools throughout the 2 hours that we were there.  I had not visited one before and enjoyed the overall experience.  But I must caution you that if you go after dark that bathing suits are optional.

We went to a restaurant called Cafe Diva and had the best dinner!  We ordered a couple of appetizers to share- smoked duck rillettes, crab salad and lobster fritters.  For the main course most everyone got the surf and turf which was scallops with either a bison or elk tenderloin.  Jennifer tried something different with the salmon.  We were all pleased with our selections.  For dessert we split the smores tower, let me just say the marshmellow gelato was phenominal.  The meal was the best one and fantastic.  Of course afterwards we were all full and ready for bed.

Monday we got up and got breakfast and then got ready for transportation to the airport.  It was a wonderful, relaxing vacation and we had an amazing time!

Anniversary

September 5th is a day that Archie and I will never forget.
The day started off with us driving back home from a visit to La Grange, TX with my mom.  When we got home we worked in the yard.  That afternoon Archie laid down to take a nap and then he started snoring so loud that I had to shut the bedroom door and turn up the volume on the TV.   I heard him get up from bed and he was muttering to himself so I went to go check on him.  He kept saying he had to make himself sick and that his head was killing him.  I tried to get him to take some headache medicine but he was not having it, I thought maybe he had a migraine since he never had headaches.  I suggested he go back to bed to try to get rid of the migraine.  He went to sleep and that horrible snoring resumed.  A little while later I heard a thud in the bathroom and went to check it out.  I found him lowering himself to the ground from his hands and knees.  There was a small scrape on his nose so I think he hit the bathtub on the way down.  At that point he was incoherent, he fell asleep on the ground face down and started snoring again.  I was shaking him trying to wake him up and to get him to answer me; I even poured some water on him which did not work.  I called my mom and asked her to come over because something is wrong with Archie.  She told me to call 911 and she was on her way.   The ambulance arrived and they took him to Centennial Hospital.  Our neighbor across the street came out and asked if there was anything she could do and I will forever be grateful to her even though I declined her offer.  My mom picked me up and we headed to the hospital via the navigation on my phone – it is unfortunate that the GPA was just taking us to downtown Frisco because the link I clicked on for the hospital didn’t have an address associate with it besides Frisco, TX.  So we turned around and got to the hospital.  After several hours and several phone calls to family members and his business partner they diagnosed the brain aneurysm and that they needed to careflight Archie to Baylor in Dallas.  While we were loading onto the helicopter my phone started blowing up because the information about Archie had been posted on facebook.  This made the situation more stressful because I was getting text messages and phone calls while trying to give my mom instructions about what to grab from the house so that we could charge our phones and get some clothes.   We had our first helicopter ride which Archie does not remember and I was too freaked out to enjoy.   We then proceeded to wait in the ER for hours while they ran tests.  Brian, Chris, my mom, Archie’s mom and step dad were all crammed in a room while we waited.  In the wee hours of the morning they moved him to 4 North ICU.  I rode home with Archie’s mom and step dad to our house to get a couple of hours of sleep and pack a bag.

Little did we know what would happen in the next twelve months:
-          The coiling procedure that didn’t work
-          Craniotomy
-          Severe vasospasms that lasted weeks- they even caused him to lose control over part of his body like a stroke – weakness in his face, hands, legs, etc.
-          External shunt
-          Internal shunt
-          A trip to the hospital October where infections were found on the shunt so it was removed
-          Another external shunt
-          A couple more weeks in the hospital while we got the infection cleared up
-          Another internal shunt
-          A trip to the hospital in June with an infection of some sort but no answers
-          A trip to the hospital in July because of a staph infection so they pulled the internal shunt again but this time he had to leave a catheter in his head because it had grown attached to scarred tissue and to remove it would cause bleeding
-          An external shunt that was later removed because he was processing the fluid correctly and there was not a need for the shunt
-          A trip to the hospital in August because the catheter has staph on it so Archie had another craniotomy to remove the catheter micro surgically

It is so strange to think that a year ago Archie was healthy with no health issues besides a twisted ankle or two.  The past year has been a long, uphill road with a lot of uncertainty.   Below is a picture that works well:

I did try to remind myself that God would not give me anything I could not handle.  My faith helped me a lot and I cannot imagine what I would do without my faith.  I think Archie and my relationship has gotten stronger throughout the past year.

I can say that I am thankful for my family – my mom, sisters, dad and brother-in-law.  I don’t think I would have made it through the past year without them.  They were there to take shifts sitting in the hospital room with us, hangout with Archie when I had to work, brought lots of meals, made me leave the hospital room for dinner or a walk and just so much more.

Archie’s mom and step dad have been champions throughout the past year.  I think they have lived more at our house than their house in Wichita Falls.  They have been here through it all – being at the hospital all day long, bringing meals, doing laundry nightly for Archie, taking shifts hanging with Archie when I went back to work and so much more.

I have to thank Allison Sloan for letting me move into her house for three months off and on for the past year.  You are so kind to let your best friend’s sister move in with you!

To all of our friends that have been there for us for the past year – all of the trips to the hospital to visit Archie, the visits to the house while Archie was hanging out at the house and the phone calls.  You don’t know how much Archie looked forward to the visitors.   It was nice to have someone to talk to entertain us and distract us.

Below is a picture we took last week and my friend Bethany described it as a symbolic picture.  A year later, we made it through the forest and are standing high on solid ground.

Frazzled

Archie called me out tonight that I have been a little short the past 3 weeks, I can honestly say that I have been frazzled and stressed out.  This is the first time that Archie has been in the hospital and had surgery while I have worked full time.  Obviously I have not been handling the stress well so if you have had any interaction with me lately and think I have been a little off I apologize.

Sunday we spent the day at my sister's house helping her with projects around the house.  Archie was working on A/V stuff while we decorated the house and worked on some pinterest projects.
My mom stayed with Archie Monday during the day.  Archie's mom, step dad and niece came into town on Tuesday and Wednesday to spend the day with Archie.  They ran errands and kept busy throughout the days.  I spent Monday and Tuesday in Fort Worth for work so it was long days and quite a bit of driving.

Today my mom was back on duty for Archie's Infectious Disease doctor appointment.  They met me for lunch afterwards at Nick and Sam's Grill since the doctor's appointment was at 11:20 am and the hospital is not too far away from my work.  Then they hung out at the house.  Tomorrow my mom is back for the day.  I am looking forward to the weekend because we don't have much planned and can relax hopefully.  I just feel like I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off the past couple of weeks and can hopefully have a low key weekend.  TGIF!

Friday and Saturday

Friday I went to work while Archie spent the day with his mom and step dad.  Archie ended up sleeping in until 8:30 am which is pretty impressive for him.  They had a busy day running errands- they walked Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Costco.  I think Archie is wanting to get out of the house since he has been stuck inside so much. His mom and step dad headed back to Wichita Falls after dinner last night.

This morning we slept in until 9 am.  Then we went to breakfast and ran a couple more errands.  We went home and the Allyson Stewart Lawn Service mowed and cleaned up the yard.  After that Archie wanted to get out of the house for a little while so I suggested we pick up my nephews and go on an Adventure.  We went to Sealife in Grapevine Mills Mall and it was fantastic.  We had a great time!  Below are some pictures:
The boys in the fish tank.
We found Nemo.
We did a family dinner because my parents brought back lobsters from Cape Cod where they have been for the past week.  Yummy!

Free At Last

This morning I got to the hospital around 7 am with a big requested meal from whataburger which was 2 biscuits and gravy plus a taquito.  He heard me enter the room and went back to sleep so I headed to work. My sister got to the hospital about 9 am and he still had not eaten anything so he ate a biscuit and gravy and then they went on a walk.  Over lunch Archie asked me to stop and get lunch and it was a bad deal because I was trying to keep close to an hour lunch and so I showed up with food and had to leave a few minutes later.  They went for another walk after lunch.  They then hung out and then found out he was getting released.  The neurosurgeon didn't even come by because "we know the drill".  Archie got a week's worth of antibiotics, a weekly appointment with the infectious disease doctor and an appointment in a week and a half with the neurosurgeon to remove stitches.
The catheter that was removed from Archie's head was tested and it had staph on it as well.  He got some hydrocodon, anti nausea meds and a blood pressure med prescribed to him.

Seriously, It Is Only Wednesday????

This morning I woke up with a start because I had forgotten to set my alarm, a small little detail. Thankfully my internal clock was working and I woke up 3 minutes before my alarm would normally go off.  I got to the hospital a few minutes before 7 am.  I saw the nurse was doing his vitals so I waited a little while before going in.  Meanwhile my mother-in-law called to tell me the power was out at our house and had been since 2 am and the alarm had been beeping that whole time.  I suggested that she put in the alarm code to see if that helped, we got a new security system recently so I had not encountered this issue.  Thankfully that worked.  Then I called to report the outage to Oncor.

Basically Archie's day consisted of sleeping and throwing up.  They were giving him anti nausea medicine plus pain meds throughout the day to try to control it but that was not working so well.  He got moved out of ICU and into a regular room late in the afternoon.  When he moved to the new room he got a "no-nonsense" nurse who wanted to get Archie up into a chair and get something in his stomach.  The nurse knows the neurosurgeon and knows that he wants his patients up and moving so now we can tell him tomorrow Archie's accomplishment.  I can proudly say that Archie sat in the chair for 30 minutes and ate a frozen fruit cup.  Now had there been a choice he would not have done it but I am really thankful for the nurse was "hard headed" and forced him to get up.  Afterwards Archie stayed awake for longer than any other time today and he just went to sleep.

Today I went back to work so I was at the hospital before work, over a late lunch and after work so it was a little unsettling trying to work knowing that Archie was not feeling well.  Thankfully Archie's mom and step dad were able to be with Archie all day long today and sent me updates.  Thanks to Mackey for checking on Archie periodically while he is working at the hospital, I know Archie likes seeing a familiar face plus he can provide a little medical advice.

Sleepy Surgery Day

Archie is out of surgery and the neurosurgeon was able to remove the catheter.  Additionally, where the doctor cut the hole in the skull he was able to put a metal plate (which is good news because otherwise there would be a dent in his head).  Archie got out of surgery around 5 pm and he basically slept the night away.  He was awake for a few minutes- enough to hear that he would be on a liquid diet for the evening which he was not happy about and to answer the vital questions.  I left around 9:15 to head to the house but left him the necessities.

This morning I got there at 7 am because last night Archie talked about me getting there early so we could go on a walk.  That is pretty funny because he slept most of the morning away.  Aaron and Matt came to visit around 9:30 am and he was awake for a while chatting with them and my sister Jessica came for a couple hours as well.  He did fall asleep on them too.  He said he was tired and the bed was comfortable so he was going to sleep.  My goal for the morning was to get him to shower before surgery since a shower would be several days away, that happened about 12:30 pm.  We knew surgery was going to happen sometime "after noon" but we waited and watched the clock for several hours.  They finally came to get him around 3:15 and sent us to the waiting room around 3:45 pm.  The surgery took at about an hour.  He was sent to ICU for the night for monitoring.  If everything goes according to plan he will be there for one night and then sent to the floor for a day or two and we will be home by the end of the week.  I personally will believe it when I see it since plans within the past year have not gone accordingly.

I am planning to go to work tomorrow but will see how Archie is feeling and if he would rather me be with him.  Thankfully my work has been really flexible and patient with my situation.
Thank you for all the prayers that were said for Archie and I.  I really appreciate it!

To Work, that is the question... and Surgery Tomorrow

Today I went back to work.  I am out of sick time and used quite a bit of vacation time in our visits in June and July to Baylor.  This weekend after we found out Archie was going to have another surgery, we had a discussion about whether he wanted me to be with him this week while he was in the hospital or whether he wanted to try to go on a vacation later this year.  At this point it has been almost a year since this situation started and we have not been anywhere or had a vacation at any point.  So I am going to take tomorrow off for the surgery and recruited Archie's mom and step dad to come spend the days for the rest of the week with Archie so I can work Wednesday-Friday.

Archie said today went by quickly which is always good news.  Thank you to Amanda and Brent for coming to visit him, I know that distracted him and made the time go by quickly.  Below is a picture gifts Archie received - an autographed baseball and Captain.
Autographed baseball by Brent Craig - hilarious!
He is so nice to humor me with this picture.
Tonight for his last regular meal before surgery was a steak.  After 7 am he is not allowed anything to eat which will make the it be a long day for him.

Archie's surgery is tomorrow in the afternoon but we do not have a time yet, sometime after the neurosurgeon finishes his first surgery of the day.  The doctor will cut a half dollar size hole in Archie's skull to remove the catheter.  The procedure should be about an hour and he will microscopically remove the catheter.

I forgot to tell everyone that Archie ended up not having meningitis.  They could never get it to grow.  He had elevated white blood cell levels, his protein and glucose were out of whack, his headache and neck ache were the indicators.  So they took him off the antibiotics for the meningitis yesterday and switched him back to oxacillin.  The other news is that once Archie gets released from the hospital we get to restart the 6 weeks of oxacillin again. GRRR!   Not what I wanted to hear but hey, I am getting good at it plus if anyone ever needs help Archie or I can give you a hand.
Please say prayers for him tomorrow.  Thank you in advance.

Donuts Anyone?

This morning I slept in until 7:15 because I a certain destination in mind for breakfast that didn't open until 8 am.  This morning I stopped at Hypnotic Donuts (http://www.hypnoticdonuts.com) for some breakfast, they are known for their creative donuts.  I got a chicken sandwich and some donuts see below:

So I headed to the hospital with a delicious breakfast.  We spent the morning hanging out and went for a long walk.  My sister came up and brought Lennys for lunch, an old favorite.  Then I ran to the store when they were playing Skip Bo.  Derek came to visit Archie while I was gone.  We then headed downstairs to mass in the chapel.  Afterwards, we headed upstairs to play some more Skip Bo.  Then we left to make some returns and pick up dinner.  Then after dinner we went for another walk and Kevin came to visit Archie.  I wanted to share a picture of what Archie's penthouse suite at the hospital looks like, the best view we have had while he was in the hospital.  Please ignore the blinds in the picture, they are permanent and you cannnot do anything besides close they and open them.
