He had 5 staples and one long suture. We sat down and chatted with the neurosurgeon afterwards. At the end of the conversation the neurosurgeon said I do not expect to see you again. Archie said "we are breaking up." So we are done with the neurosurgeon, the only way that we would see him again would be if there was an issue with the shunt but he said that was very unlikely.
We went to lunch and then my mom took me to pick up my car because recently my car developed a rattle so we got that resolved. Then we headed to Baylor Rehab for an outpatient occupational therapy evaluation. After talking for about 30 minutes the therapist said that she does not think that Archie needs that. She did suggest a neuro psych evalation which is what we had discussed with our primary care doctor so I think that will be our next step. We headed home and then I called the neurologist from last week that we met with in regards to the seizure, to follow up with the EEG results and see who they refer to in regards to a neuro psych evaluation. They took a message and then later called Archie back and told us the EEG results were fine. The nurse also told him a name in regards to the evaluation which incidentally was the same name that Baylor Frisco gave us which is reassuring. Then told Archie directions in regards to tapering off the Kepra which is the anti-seizure medication so I think we are done with the neurologist as well. We are getting rid of doctors left and right.
Tomorrow we have a follow-up appointment with the infectious disease doctor. When I tried to call about an appointment for the neuro psych evaulation and was told the next available appointment is February but they are going to try to work him in. One other thing that needs to be scheduled is a haircut, we are going to ask at the cancer center if they have any recommendations in regards to a hairstylist with some experience with head injuries. A few more appointments but we are making headway.
